.blueSpiritual gifts are given to each of us not to keep to ourselves
but to share with one and all for the good of the church
and to reach out to those who do not know Christ.

Those who have the gift of prophecy are able to explain scripture.
They are inspired teachers and preachers who inspire others with their words.
It is not necessarily the gift of foretelling events.
It is a gift given to some to help us learn and understand what God has said in His Word.

All the spiritual gifts are beautiful and important to the life of the church.
Perhaps prophecy is to be especially desired because it helps all of us
learn how to use, to greater advantage, the gifts we are given.

What are your spiritual gifts?
Do you use them fully or do you hold back?

Blessings this day of grace,

patricia

  1. Gift of prophecy many not be a spiritual gift if it’s not in line with Christ, neither is gift of tongue. I’d rather stay on the gift on human level such as a gift of faith or gift of giving, this way common folks will understand it. Very deep question that needs more time on discernment. Good night.

    1. Any of the spiritual gifts can be misused.. especially prophecy. If the teacher is Spirit led the common folk will understand. Unfortunately, like you said, not all who claim prophecy as their gift are being led by the Spirit. We are wise if we, like the Bereans, search scripture to know that what we are hearing is in line with the truth of God’s Word (Acts 17:11)
