Matthew 21:12-13 niv

moneybagWhen Jesus entered the Temple he found businessmen buying and selling;
making money from those who were there to pray and offer sacrifice.
Jesus made it clear he wanted them out of the Temple and he told them why;
the Lord’s house is to be a place of prayer not a place of business.

Who profits from money in the church today…business or benevolence?
Do you think Jesus would be angry with the church today?

Blessings this day of grace,

  1. Yes I do…I think he would look around and wonder where all the money goes. Kindness, generosity, compassion I believe is the currency he’d approve of. Not how much is in your envelope. I go through this a lot. Right now I’m as broke as I’ve ever been so I can’t write big checks. But I can help in small ways…offer encouragement…my arm…a smile. Jesus would say yay to that.

    • I agree with you, Susannah. In my opinion, some of the church has wandered from the path. Giving isn’t just about money. What you give to those who cross your path shows your generosity. Jesus doesn’t look so much at what we give as He does at what we don’t give.
