The priests in Israel were to keep the altar fires burning.
They were not to let the fire die.
So it is with us, we must tend the fire on the altar of our heart.
We are to keep the fire burning and our offerings new every morning.
Have you thought of your heart as an altar?
How do you keep the fire in your heart burning bright?
Blessings this day of grace,

There is a saying that our body is our temple, then the heart must be the altar. I made this up. Thank you for this verse, Patricia.
Our bodies are temples where the Holy Spirit lives so it does make sense that our hearts are the altar. You are very wise.
How lovely is this…and on my birthday too 🙂 You take a lot of trouble with Day of Grace…it’s awe-inspiring.
Thank you, Susannah and Happy Birthday! I think birthdays are our very own New Year’s Day so celebrate the new year. Any awe you find here is the Spirit’s doing He is my editor…not that I always listen as I should.
I try to look to spirit more…I tend to forget to ask him what he thinks.
Wonderful post Particia. I’ve never thought of my heart as being an alter, but I shall do from now on. Thanks for the insight.
This is a new thought for me, too. Somehow it is helpful to me to visualize this.
Me too. 😉
