Proverbs 17:17a niv

It is easy to love when everything is good.
But when things are not so good it takes effort.
Sometimes we just have to persevere until the rough spots get smoothed out.
That may mean lots of talking or silence, spending time together or time apart,
agreeing to disagree, forgiving and forgetting, and sometimes we need to let go.
In any loving friendship there is give and take.
There will be times when we need to give gifts to our friends
and times when we need to receive their gifts.
Whatever the times, love your friend.

Do you put effort into your friendships?
How do you keep your friendships from faltering?

Blessings this day of grace,patricia

  1. Made me think, you did. Then I also recalled those who love one another Jesus calls his friends. I seem to have more acquaintances than friends… need to see why?

    • Most of us probably have more acquaintances than friends. That is not necessarily a bad thing. It takes time and effort to forge true friendships and to maintain them the way they deserve. There are only so many hours in a day…

What are your thoughts?
