Habakkuk 2:18 nlt

woodWe may not carve ourselves wood idols but we can make idols for ourselves.
An idol can be anything we put our trust in; a job, a bank account, a person, our body;
anything that we rely on or have confidence in, above all else, can be an idol;
a worthless little god who has no real power.

Is there something that has become an idol to you?
Something that gets all your attention and maybe causes you worry?

Habakkuk 2:4 kj

Those who are prideful rely on themselves.
The righteous live by faith and complete trust in God.

In this world we are constantly being told to be self-confident and self-sufficient.
But that is not the way the Lord’s people are to live.
Our confidence is in God and all we need comes from Him.

Is your faith in God or yourself?

Habakkuk 2:14 esv

Men may think that they are all-powerful and rule the world;
because they think this does not make it true.

No matter what the worldly powers of man may think
the glory of God will be known throughout the earth.

Looking around do you find it difficult to believe this?
What can you do to help yourself see the truth?

Blessings this day of grace,
