Jesus had done what He came to do.The work He was sent to do was done.
At the end of His journey, He did what He had done all along.
He prayed to His Father.

What are you doing while on your journey?

Without water living things thirst, wither, and die.
Yet, even with water the time comes when life ends.
There is another source of water; Jesus.
Drink the water He offers and you will have life
not for a few years but forever.

Nowhere in the Ten Commandments does it specifically say we are to love one another.
It says to honor our parents, not to murder, steal or commit adultery,
tell lies about our neighbor or covet what he has.
Jesus says, “Love one another just as I have loved you.”
This is new; it was not part of the Law.
Jesus had to come here to show us this love, His love.

Jesus’ love was pretty radical back then and it hasn’t changed;
it is still profound and essential today.
How do you show or express the “just as I have loved you” part of the command?

fire

Peter and the disciples had fished all night.
Jesus was on the shore waiting for them.
He wanted to talk with Peter;
but He knew Peter, and the others, would be hungry.
Being the servant He is Jesus had breakfast ready for them.
When they finished eating Jesus talked with Peter;
telling Peter to feed His sheep.

Do you see how Jesus takes care of His followers?
How does He serve you when you are spiritually hungry?

flowerThomas was not with the others the first time
Jesus joined the disciples in the locked room.
Thomas told them he would not believe
unless he saw Jesus and touched His wounds.

Today we do not see and cannot touch the wounds of our Lord.
Today we have the written record, the Bible, that we may believe.
When we believe what is written we have life in His name.

Were you a doubting Thomas?
When did you stop doubting and believe?
