Psalm 94:19 esv

person-690112_640When doubt and anxiety are knocking on the door
you don’t have to let them in.
Ask God to help you deal with what troubles you.
His Spirit will comfort you and your joy will be renewed.

Do you try to handle all the cares and problems of life yourself?
You do know God is waiting to hear from you, don’t you?

Acts 1:9-11 nlt

clouds-189804_640Jesus had just told the disciples that it was not for them to know
the times or seasons the Father had planned.
But that they would receive the Holy Spirit
and be His witnesses to the world.

Then He was gone from them;
and two angels were sent to comfort them.
The angels told the disciples that they would see Jesus again.
He will return as He left, suddenly in a cloud.

Do you see the Lord never left His disciples without comfort?
Do you understand He offers the same comfort to you?

Matthew 5:4 niv

mourn

When we think of the offense of our sins, if we are truly repentant we will grieve.
As we mourn we will be comforted;
we will find strength as we are consoled and encouraged.
It is out of this sorrow that we will be blessed with joy.

Have you been so convicted by your sin that your heart aches with grief?
Do you want to be comforted by your Father and have the blessing of joy?
Will you talk with Him today?

God knows life is not an easy journey.
He knows when you need to be comforted.
Sometimes He will send a friend or loved one to comfort you;
or maybe He will send a stranger.
Whoever comes to give you comfort
know that it is your Father who sends them.

Has it happened to you that just when you needed it most someone touched you?
Did you wonder how that person knew you needed them?

2 Corinthians 1:4 nlt

hands4

The Lord wants us to learn how to comfort those in the midst of trouble.
He teaches us by comforting us in our own troubles.

As He touches us we are to touch others.
We are to give to others what He has given us;
comfort.

Sometimes comfort comes with words,
sometimes with silence,
sometimes with a hug,
sometimes with a touch of hands.

In times of trouble how have you been comforted by others?
Is there someone needing your comfort today?
