Psalm 19:13 nlt

free

We all have things we do or say that we know are sin.
We commit the sin and are convicted by the Spirit, we regret what we have done,
we go to the Lord, pray for forgiveness and promise never to do it again.
Sometimes that’s all it takes and we are done with that particular sin.
But deliberate sin is often deep-rooted and requires more than a one time prayer.
To be rid of this kind of offense we need to be strong,
unwavering, faithful, determined, and we need help.

Ask for forgiveness, promise you won’t sin in this way again, and ask for His help.

Are you caught up in deliberate sin?
Have you asked for His help?

When celebrating freedom remember what true freedom is and where it is found.
Remember the freedom that cannot be restricted or denied.

Sometimes we feel less than free.  Why?
Is it because we don’t understand what freedom is?

Some think there is only the “Thou shalt not”  in God’s kingdom.
If that were true there wouldn’t be freedom; there is so much freedom found in the Lord.
We have not only been set free from sin and condemnation, we have been set free to:
Share in the promises and blessings of God, all of them.
Have the attention of God, all the time.
Live with Him in heaven, forever.

Have you thought about what you can do and where you can go
because Christ has set you free?

It seems contradictory to say the heart that heeds the commands is free.
But there is no freedom without rules.
Prison inmates are behind bars because they went outside the boundaries,
they disregarded the rules and lost their freedom.
God has given us His commandments so we will be free to live with Him forever.

It is easy to follow the rules we like but what about the ones we don’t like?
What is your attitude when faced with rules that are difficult to accept or follow?
