Luke 2:1-4 gw

Joseph-and-Mary

God’s timing of His plan is not always the most convenient.
I think Mary and Joseph were not happy about having to travel
from Nazareth to Bethlehem when it was time for the birth of her baby.
But His plans called for the Messiah to be born in Bethlehem
and He used a Roman Emperor to get Mary and Joseph
where they needed to be at just the right time.

I often complain when I feel inconvenienced.
Reflecting on these verses has made me think about my attitude!

How do you respond when inconvenienced?

We don’t have to spend time wondering what is our purpose in life.
Here we learn that our purpose is to help others.
What we need to do is find a way to carry out the plan set before us.

What do you like to do?
Is there a way to help others doing what you like to do?

Isaiah 53:10 nlt

Jesus’ suffering was part of God’s perfect plan.
Jesus’ life was given so many will live with Him
forever in His kingdom.

God’s plan is not always pleasant and painless.
But it is always for the good of those who love Him.

Is it hard for you to accept that God’s plan sometimes includes suffering?
How do you walk faithfully when His plan is difficult to understand?

God is not a God of the just the big picture.
He is in the details too.

Have you thought about how all the details come together in God’s plan and purpose?
Do you know He is in the details, not only in His plans for the world, but also in your life?

The Lord made a plan for the earth and all its creatures.
His plan is perfect and beyond our imagination.
We do not know all of His plan but we do know
He is faithful and will see it accomplished.

Look around at all He has done and praise His name!

Do you know that you have been part of God’s plan from the beginning?
What do you think of that and how does it make you feel?
