Psalm 91:1 niv

field-410646_640

When you are God’s child and live with Him you are under His protection.
When life is difficult, no matter the stresses and losses, the trials and temptations;
whatever causes you anxious days and sleepless nights, you are in His care.
When it seems you are alone in the scorching heat of a desert,
He will provide a shade tree.

There are times I am so focused on what is wrong and difficult
I miss the oasis of His shadow.

What is your focus today?

Jeremiah 6:16 niv

crossroad

Sometimes when we are weary or restless or querulous
it is because we are at a crossroads and don’t know
which way to go or what to do.
Or maybe we have strayed from the path we know,
and have become confused and bewildered, not knowing
where we are or how we got there.

This is when we need to stop and be still, and in prayer,
seek information, instruction, and guidance.
We will be given direction and when we follow it
we will once again know rest and harmony.

Do you feel stressed and tired?
Could it be that you need to stop for a while to get your bearings?

Psalm 116:7 niv

lionrestThere are times that daily life is too busy, too troubled, too hurried, too anxious.
That is when we need to stop, just stop and rest, if only for a minute or two.
When we turn away from the cacophony of life we can think about
the blessings the Lord has given us and we will find the rest we need
to be refreshed, renewed, and ready for whatever is ahead.

Do you take time to rest when life gets crazy?

Isaiah 32:18 niv

house

Many of the Lord’s people do not live in peaceful places
or in secure homes…yet.
There will be a day when this promise is complete.
Until then our peace is within and we rest secure in His keeping.

Is this promise a reality in your life today?
Will you pray, today, for those who do not know the reality of it?

Jeremiah 6:16a niv

crossroad

Sometimes the most stressful and tiring part of a journey
is not being sure of which road to take.

Wise travelers ask for directions;
they ask for the best route and that’s the one they take.

Once on the right road the traveler can relax
and feel rested.

Sadly, the second part of this verse tell us that the Israelites
responded by saying “We will not walk in it.”

Do you ask for directions when you are not sure which direction to go?
How do you respond when given directions?
